Infrared imaging for system integration

Infrared imaging in machine vision

Xenics’ infrared cameras and detectors for machine vision systems assist in controlling and steering mechanical and computerized manufacturing equipment like conveyor belts, machining tools and robotic arms.

Abnormalities of product size, form or content, surface defects, etc. are detected at high speed. Its day/night operation, high accuracy, high repeatability and high reliability make the systems cost-effective; and increase production and quality. Besides, Xenics’ cameras are easy to integrate into your existing process control system.

Configuration

A complete infrared machine vision configuration typically consists of an infrared camera, computer hardware and advanced software to acquire and process the information received. The camera has an infrared sensor inside that receives infrared radiation and converts it into an image. Depending on the physical characteristics of the sensor it produces a 2D image or an infrared line scan.

All Xenics camera configurations offer a choice of industrial interfaces to communicate with our own powerful and fast analysis and data acquisition software or with any other software programs through our software development kit (SDK). Multiple cameras can be connected to the available local area network (LAN) for direct or remote controlled monitoring.
