Thermal imaging for industrial applications

Process control

In industry today, reliability and accuracy are crucial issues to cut costs and increase productivity and quality. Continuous, realtime and on-line infrared imaging provides an important monitoring and control tool for production and plant processes.

So why settle for ‘thermal imaging’ cameras if you can have cameras covering the entire infrared spectrum?

The Xenics infrared cameras and detectors assist in controlling and steering mechanical and computerized manufacturing equipment like conveyor belts, machining tools and robotic arms.

Applications

Food inspection using thermal imaging

Food Inspection

On-line inspection systems for non-destructive testing, using infrared imaging cameras, can provide you with a lot of information such as sugar content of fruit and internal defects not visible to the human eye. This accurate information contributes to improved product quality and increased productivity.

Inspection of Semiconductors

Semiconductor inspection

Semiconductor manufacturers have to meet ever tighter cost constraints. Machine vision inspection with SWIR cameras provides you valuable information about process stability and quality assurance measurements. They perfectly match the spectrum of low-level photon emissions caused by semiconductor grid defects.

Waste sorting

Waste sorting

System designers can optimize layout of highly efficient separation and sorting systems with Xenics compact Near Infrared (NIR) imaging cameras. The NIR infrared cameras perfectly meet the absorption spectra of various plastic materials and allow for automated recycling at low cost.

OCT for Non Destructive Testing (NDT)

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has primarily evolved to a standard non-invasive biomedical analysis technique. As it proves detailed cross-sectional images it is also perfectly suited for industrial applications. The non destructive imaging technique can be used as a cost-efficient quality improvement tool for in-line inspection of multi-layered objects in manufacturing processes. For these tasks, advanced linescan and 2D high-speed InGaAs cameras are universally suited.

Configuration

Xenics has a set of infrared camera configurations especially designed for industrial applications. They come with advanced software and interfaces and are ruggedized to withstand rough and demanding circumstances.

All Xenics camera configurations offer a choice of industrial interfaces to communicate with Xenics’ powerful and fast analysis and data acquisition software or with any other software programs through our software development kit (SDK). Multiple cameras can be connected to the available local area network (LAN) for direct or remote controlled monitoring.
