Product Focus - Bobcat-320-Gated

The Bobcat-320-Gated SWIR camera targets laser gated imaging applications, measurement systems needing camera synchronisation with a laser or just SWIR R&D where very short integration times are needed. In these fields of work, this SWIR camera provides exceptional performance.

The Bobcat-320-Gated is a small, high performance SWIR camera sensitive in the 0.9 - 1.7µm spectral band. The camera has a 320 x 256 pixels InGaAs detector with a 20 µm pixel pitch. 

The Bobcat-320-Gated supports an extremely short integration time of 100 nsec. It is equipped with trigger-in and jitter-free trigger-out. A special feature is the programmable trigger-out delay between the internally generated trigger-out pulse and the start of the integration. Its extremely short integration time, high frame rate (400Hz) and programmable, jitter-free trigger out make it a perfect match for gated imaging applications or the inspection of hot or fast moving objects.

Xeneth 2.6 is coming!

The update of the Xenics Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the Software Development Kit (SDK) allows the user to fully exploit the increasing set of features on our current and future infrared cameras.

What is new on Xeneth 2.6?

  1. The set of supported pixel formats is extended to grab and display colored images.This is required for our XCO-640 MWIR core
  2. Support for future thermal cameras that are equipped with onboard thermography is implemented. The Radiometric version of our software will provide all facilities that a Xeneth user is used to when temperature calibration packs are applied in the software:
    1. Temperature statistics on a wide variation of selections
    2. Graphs and time graphs expressed in temperature
    3. Images and videos that contain all meta-data needed for post-processing
  3. The conversion of Xenics propriety movie format (.xvi) to static images in standard format is optimized. This makes post-processing even more convenient and allows reporting and analysis of your data in 3th party software.
  4. The Xeneth SDK documentation is thoroughly reviewed and completed. Additional samples are provided.
  5. Xeneth 2.6 is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 in both 32 and 64 bit.
  6. Xeneth SDK is providing a C, C++ and C# interface that runs on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 in both 32 and 64 bit. For Linux the C and C++ versions are tested on Fedora and Ubuntu in both 32 and 64 bit.

Sensor-based food inspection and sorting

Automated food inspection systems based on sensors for the visual, shortwave infrared, UV and X-ray realms have become a major field of application for advanced imaging systems and (infrared) cameras.

Imaging of guided and scattered light from silicon PICs

The University of Strathclyde has significantly accelerated the characterisation of silicon Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) using the XS-1.7-320 SWIR camera

In the experiment the researchers have integrated the XS-1.7-320 video-rate SWIR camera to align optical fibres to the PICs. Often it is difficult to align both input and output fibres to the PIC using only a top, visible microscope image as a positional guide.
