The range of Meerkat cameras is designed for outdoor thermal surveillance and monitoring. They are particularly suitable for perimeter and critical infrastructure protection. All Meerkat models offer features such as easy connection, a broad choice of lens options and a rugged protective housing.
Xenics’ Raven series of security cameras offer LWIR surveillance providing thermal imaging that is crisp and clear even under difficult weather conditions and in complete darkness without the use of additional illumination.
Total darkness no longer an obstacle with Xenics
The Raven and Meerkat series cameras can be used to locate the heat signature of people, boats and vehicles in total darkness and are almost unaffected by local weather or atmospheric conditions. These Xenics thermal imaging cameras or camera engines are based on uncooled microbolometer sensors (LWIR).
The latest in the Raven series is the Raven-640-Analog 17 μm, an infrared imaging camera designed for the demanding security market with a high operating temperature range. It can be configured with various lenses for short-range, medium-range and long range observation. The camera interface is PAL/NTSC video for regular CCTV security networks. The integration and use of these infrared cameras is very straightforward.
Xenics keeps an eye on your property
The Meerkat outdoor infrared security cameras are well-suited for border control and keeping an eye on facilities. The Meerkat-Fix is a highly sensitive outdoor fixed thermal security network camera to detect the smallest temperature differences with a reliable imaging at high frame rates in total darkness or poor visibility. In addition, the Meerkat-Fix-ONVIF is able to transmit compressed data over a network.
The robust IP66 system Meerkat-PTZ has a continuous pan and tilt rotation and zoom function, which can be used for long range security surveillance and situational awareness. Both products are high quality systems for high-end security applications, suitable for continuous monitoring and tracking.
Image correction with XTM OEM module
The Meerkat and Raven cameras are all based around the Xenics XTM OEM module. The XTM modules bring benefits such as unique image quality and stability guaranteeing unequalled uniform and crisp thermal images. The modules also bring easy integration via the universal QTE connector which allows for immediate connection, data acquisition, command and control.
The set of embedded algorithms are provided on-board to perform image correction, calibration and enhancement functions such as auto gain, histogram stretching, and bad-pixel replacement within the camera.
Ease of integration delivers faster time to market
The use of standard interfaces (e.g. TCP/IP, ONVIF, Ethernet) and the intelligent embedded algorithms saves time for system integrators in bringing products to market. “In the past,” stated Bob Grietens, CEO at Xenics, “users had to perform a lot of image processing in their self-developed software.
