Stuttgart, Germany, 04 November 2008 — Xenics, the sole European developer and manufacturer of advanced infrared detector solutions, exhibits and demonstrates its full IR camera portfolio besides a host of new products at Vision 2008 (4 to 6 November 2008). Prominently featured at Xenics’ Booth E82 in Hall 4 is the latest release of its high-resolution, high-speed SWIR Cheetah-640CL thermal imaging system for advanced high-temperature industrial uses and its smart uncooled bolometer camera Gobi.

Besides displaying and demonstrating its full range of advanced IR imaging systems, Xenics has chosen the Vision 2008 show to present its new Xenics brand identity as part of a new strategic plan for an application oriented approach and support of a growing demand for cameras with higher resolution; faster speed; and better sensitivity.

“We are broadening our portfolio as well as our presence in the worldwide markets,” Xenics founder and CEO Bob Grietens says. “In addition to our fast growing business in advanced InGaAs SWIR imagers we are ready to enter the markets for uncooled bolometer solutions based on our extended and application oriented, R&D portfolio.”

At Vision 2008, Xenics demonstrates its broad range of infrared camera systems and imaging solutions offering a host of standard and specialty features to enable outstanding solutions in machine vision applications. Xenics’ advanced IR Imaging program will be highlighted on October 6 (12:30-1:00 pm in Hall 6, Booth A81) in the framework of the Industrial Vision Days 2008, by a special presentation “The added value of infrared cameras to machine vision applications.”

Brand new in Xenics’ program and shown for the first time at Vision 2008 is the Cheetah-640CL camera, which supports continuous full-speed data transfer via double CameraLink. “In this userfriendly configuration, uniquely combining extreme high speed, high resolution and best sensitivity, Cheetah-640CL is perfectly suited for various SWIR applications such as industrial thermal imaging, medical high-speed OCT, hyperspectral imaging, wavefront sensing and R&D,” Bob Grietens says.

Another new arrival in Xenics’ growing product portfolio is Gobi-384, a cost-reducing smart uncooled bolometer camera, perfectly suited for industrial thermal imaging, optional with continuous recording software offered by Xenics in a partnership with Quadrox.

Xenics also shows its XEVA series of cameras for short-wave infrared imaging (with TE3 cooling) and visual near-infrared imaging, featuring a superb low dark current for low-light level application, spectroscopy, failure analysis, small particle detection and many more demanding industrial applications.

Also on view: Xenics’ proven XMID camera range enabling highly stable thermal imaging solutions for temperature measurement, inspection of breaks, glass bottles and much more. Optional specialized thermography software is now available from Xenics in partnership with Goratec.
